Secretary of State NI: International Women’s Day
As part of International Women’s day 2022 celebrations Core Systems welcomed the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Brandon Lewis to our office.
We were delighted to host the roundtable event with female entrepreneurs from Belfast to discuss ways forward to support the growth and expansion of female led business in Northern Ireland.
For International Women’s Day, Patricia O’Hagan CEO Core System said “it is encouraging that Minister was interested to discuss initiatives supporting women in Northern Ireland to start and scale businesses and that he recognises the need for targeted programmes. It was good to talk about the specific challenges facing female leaders and highlight the key role women play in driving economic growth and prosperity across Northern Ireland”.
The Minister also took time to meet with the staff at Core Systems to hear about the important work Core Systems does for the criminal justice sector globally. Core Systems is a software company that develops technology to support offenders on their rehabilitation journey and to equip them with important life and digital skills to enable them to participate fully when they return to the community.
As a technology company we are proud to support the international justice sector from our head office in Belfast and our recently opened office in Australia. “The opportunity to walk Secretary of State Lewis through Core System’s technology for offender rehabilitation is important as it not only highlights women entrepreneurship in technology start-ups but the value of having more women in the industry sector, adding a more positive effect on the economy (as per the Alison Rose Review)”. Patricia said.
