Senior cabinet office minister, David Lidington visits Core Systems’ headquarters in Belfast

It’s not everyday cabinet office minister David Lidington visits your office, but on the 7th December 2018 that’s exactly what happened.

Patricia O’Hagan and David Lidington at Core System’s Headquarters

Thanks to the Federation of Small Businesses, Mr Lidington visited Core’s headquarters in Belfast to discuss current challenges facing export companies in Northern Ireland.

During his visit, Mr Lidington spoke with Core Systems’ CEO, Patricia O’ Hagan at length about the great work Core Systems are doing in the Corrections Industry.

Diana Atchison, Core’s business development manager, had the pleasure of showing the cabinet office minister Core’s offender self-service software. As former secretary state of Justice, Mr. Lidington quickly understood the benefits of the platform and was complimentary about the great work being done at Core.

After a brief tour of Core’s office, Mr. Lidington made his way to the boardroom where members of the Federation of Small Business Policy and Export Group, including Core’s CEO Patricia O’Hagan, were waiting. During the roundtable, Mr. Lidington discussed topics around skills, trade, and export.

After the meeting, Mr Lidington took questions from the press around Brexit and the upcoming vote.

Mr. Lidlington was very open throughout the day, chatting freely with staff, discussing important topics with the Federation of Small Businesses, and answering questions from the press. The crucial message from the day was, a no deal Brexit must be avoided.

We would like to thank Mr. Lidlington for visiting Core Systems, and also to the Federation of Small Businesses for making it all possible.
